What a treat to meet publishing friends new and old at Bookcamp Vancouver, an unconference on the state and art of publishing. The Golden Rule
Recently, I was in the green room of one of Vancouver’s top TV interview programs with a client. Studio 4, hosted by the affable and talented Fanny Keifer, offers rare extended interview in these days of 30 second sound bites and 140 character blog posts. My author was one of three guests and, as usual, we chatted and made small talk with the show’s wonderful staff and others in the room. Orca Book Publishers
Since I learned to read around age 3, I have been a fan of children’s books. I collect picture books, enjoy novels intended for tweens & teens, read aloud to my son and generally act as advocate for children and literature whenever I have the opportunity. One of my long-time favourite publishing houses is Orca Book Publishers. Today, I attended a celebration of their books at Vancouver Kidsbooks and had the pleasure of meeting Cynthia Nugent, Sara Leach and John Wilson. Congratulations all on a fabulous new season.
