Social media means social sharing and we all stumble across great things to share on the web. To pass along the address easily use an URL shortener like TinyURL, Bit.ly or Ow.ly. Simple copy and paste the address you want to send and you’ll get a short link for easy sharing. If you want to track how many clicks your link receives then Bit.ly is the best choice. If you want to be a bit tricky, you can also use the URL shortener called Trick.ly.
Hootsuite Adds Team Features
I’ve long been a fan of Hootsuite as a tool to manage multiple Twitter accounts or other social networks like Facebook, Ping.fm, WordPress, and FourSquare. Now Hootsuite has added a new team feature that allows more than one person to act on behalf of an account. Take for example, the book blog I write for The Book Broads.
The Conversation Prism
More and more often, I’m teaching workshops and seminars about social media and social networking. Frequently, I want to illustrate just how diverse the social web is today but have only a few minutes in the context of a much larger lesson. Thankfully there are several diagrams that provide a visual representation in a classic example of a picture being worth a thousand words. My current favourite is by Brian Solis and Jesse Thomas – The Conversation Prism.
