Recently I was wandering a favourite book and magazine fair in Vancouver called The Word On The Street. Someone had a left a business card on a bench that caught my eye with its big green letters that read “DON’T PANIC.”
Well, as a fan of Douglas Adams’ Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxay series I was affronted on his behalf that anyone would try to capitalize on one of his signature phrases.
And then I looked closer … and it turned out that the talented and funny writer Eoin Colfer (who’s Artemis Fowl series is among my favourites) has written a sixth installment to Adams’ series posthumously.
Such a great marketing piece … bravo to the folks at Penguin Books for that gem of a card. You got my attention and kept your book top of mind for weeks. Now, all I have to do is pick up a copy….
